Equip yourself with strategies to identify, assess, and manage conflicts of interest effectively, ensuring client trust and upholding professional integrity.

Encountering conflicts of interest or duty is an expected experience within financial advice, but appropriate management is a critical part of ethical practice. In this session, we will define the concept of conflict and explore its two types – manageable and unmanageable conflicts that should be avoided, as applied to Standard 3 of the Code of Ethics.
Join Phil Davies as he discusses ways to identify and differentiate between the two types, examines the consequences of not managing conflicts effectively, and provides various management strategies for effective ethical practice.
By attending this session, you will:
Gain a broad understanding of the practicalities around Standard 3 of the Financial Planners and Advisers Code of Ethics 2019, including the regulatory context, the tools for identifying conflicts, types of conflicts that can arise, the approach taken within the professions, manageable vs unmanageable conflicts, and conflict management strategies.
Develop a lexicon for raising ethical questions arising from conflicts and underlining the importance of exercising professional judgement in relation to these.
