David takes a holistic approach to his cases in order to find efficient and practical real-world solutions for his clients. He represents clients in a diverse group of practice areas, with a focus on contractual claims and civil liability. He has particular expertise managing complex and multi-party disputes, and has pleaded before all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court. David is also a director of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, where he works, among other projects, on the defence of political prisoners. David Grossman has previously served as a law clerk to the Honourable Michel Bastarache of the Supreme Court of Canada, and as special assistant to the Honourable Irwin Cotler, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. He joined IMK in 2012.

Glynnis Hawe enjoys tackling novel and complex legal issues, and has earned a reputation as a sophisticated and thoughtful advocate. She acts as counsel in all manner of commercial and employment disputes, professional regulatory matters, judicial reviews and appeals, constitutional cases, and as union-side counsel in civil litigation. Grounded in a commitment to advocacy and social justice, Glynnis has represented the CCLA at the Divisional Court of Ontario, and the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples and Progress Toronto at the Supreme Court of Canada. She regularly provides pro bono legal services with Pro Bono Ontario and as duty counsel at the Superior Court of Justice. Glynnis is also co-Chair of the firm’s Associates Committee. Brendan specializes in complex commercial disputes, deal litigation, and public law matters. He has significant trial, appellate litigation, and arbitration experience across a variety of industries and practice areas, including transportation (air and rail), large infrastructure projects and construction, energy, insurance, procurement, administrative law, and constitutional law. Brendan has appeared before the Alberta Court of King's Bench, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan, and the Supreme Court of Canada. In 2025, Brendan was named as a Canadian Changemaker by The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine and as an Emerging Talent Litigator of the Year by Benchmark. He also teaches Administrative Law at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law and is part of Avenue Calgary Magazine's Top 40 Under 40 Class of 2022. Brendan has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers, Benchmark, Best Lawyers, Lexpert, The Legal 500, and Euromoney. Ian has a diverse practice with a focus on litigation. He is lead counsel for a number of institutional clients and provides assistance with employment, property, corporate, commercial, and general litigation matters. A considerable portion of Ian’s practice involves working with insurance companies and in insurance-related matters. Ian has experience representing clients before administrative tribunals and at all levels of court in Nova Scotia, including Nova Scotia’s Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal. He prides himself on responsive, efficient, and effective legal work. Well respected for his experience, Ian has taught legal courses at Cape Breton University and currently lectures at Dalhousie University Schulich School of Law. Ian has also presented at professional development and community seminars on topics that include employment law and wills and estates. Ian is an avid runner and has participated in races across Atlantic Canada, including the Prince Edward Island Marathon and the Cabot Trail Relay Race.

Corey represents domestic and international clients in a wide array of complex and cross-border litigation, including commercial, class action, cybersecurity, insurance, fraud, and regulatory matters. A resourceful and dedicated litigator, he has a proven track record of solving difficult problems and securing successful outcomes for clients. Corey leverages his background and experience in cyber law to counsel clients on data breach response and litigation, cybersecurity governance, and data privacy. He regularly acts as a breach coach to a variety of businesses, including highly regulated and global institutions, in relation to cyber incidents involving ransomware, supply chain attacks, and unauthorized disclosure of personal information and sensitive commercial data. Corey is the sole FraudNet Future representative for Québec of ICC FraudNet, an invitation-only global network of fraud and asset recovery legal specialists administered by the International Chamber of Commerce. Before joining Davies, Corey was a litigator and cybersecurity lawyer at the New York office of an international law firm. He previously clerked for the Honourable Justice Morris J. Fish at the Supreme Court of Canada.

Kelly Moffet-Burima is the Calgary local chair of our Litigation and Disputes Group. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and construction litigation. Kelly has acted in a broad range of matters, including a wide variety of contractual disputes in both the energy and construction sectors. She also regularly handles fraud claims, actions involving breaches of fiduciary duty and breaches of confidence, construction disputes involving deficiencies, delay claims, and builders’ liens, as well as professional negligence actions. Kelly has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta. She has also acted as counsel in several arbitrations and mediations.
