Master advanced legal tactics to expose procedural errors, challenge forensic testing, and build robust defences against severe alcohol and drug driving charges.

High-range PCA and drug driving matters are increasingly technical, with prosecutions relying heavily on scientific testing processes, statutory compliance, and expert evidence. For defence practitioners, understanding how breath analysis instruments, oral fluid testing, laboratory analysis, and sample collection procedures actually operate is critical to properly assessing the strength of the prosecution case.
This course provides a practical and technical examination of the evidentiary framework underpinning drink and drug driving prosecutions in Australia. Participants will explore breath and oral fluid testing procedures, statutory time limits, rising BAC arguments, laboratory confirmation processes, pharmacological evidence, and procedural defects that may affect admissibility or reliability. Designed for criminal and traffic law practitioners, the session equips lawyers with a structured approach to identifying technical defences and critically evaluating prosecution evidence in PCA and drug driving matters.
