As an accountant and former auditor, I always look for opportunities to learn more about my craft. Lifelong learning is not just a fancy sounding slogan. To this end I recently enrolled in an online course for auditors, accountants and those interested in the field of accounting. The course is on the Learnformula.com platform and can be found at the link below this article.
The course is entitled “Auditing and Accounting with Sage 300 ERP” and con be found by searching under “Sage 300” or “Auditing”. It was once called Sage 300 for Auditors and Accountants.
I find the course very helpful and informative. Anyone seeking to help the auditor or accountant is a person I would want to help. The accounting software used is Sage 300 ERP but the course is geared towards helping you to understand how other good accounting software should work and what one should expect from a great accounting software package. I find the feature that lets you design your financial statements using Microsoft Excel, very appealing. Another great point he makes concerns reports. An accounting package is as good as its reports. You need that information in a form that’s useful.
The creator of the course points out what to look for in a superior software accounting package so that if you are looking for an accounting system or ERP solutions this is a good course to consider. He tries to foresee problems the auditor may encounter and gives solutions. He actually reconciles the Accounts Receivable(AR) and Accounts Payable(AP) sub-ledgers to the General ledger(GL) which I find very useful. The course covers the financial modules, AR, AP, and GL.
Please note I am not being paid to make these statements. I think my colleagues could benefit from this course. Check it out at:
