Tom Barlow is a construction and design professional whose career spans hands-on trades, architecture, and structural engineering. Growing up in Northern England, he began his journey in the construction industry at the age of 16 as an apprentice bricklayer, gaining invaluable practical experience and a deep understanding of how buildings are delivered on site through coordinated teamwork and craftsmanship.
Building on this foundation, Tom pursued higher education, earning a Master’s degree in Architecture followed by a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering. This unique combination of trade experience and advanced technical knowledge has given him a rare perspective that spans the entire construction lifecycle—from initial concept and design through to project delivery and completion.
Throughout his career, Tom has developed a strong passion for Building Information Modelling (BIM), particularly Autodesk Revit. Having worked in both architectural and structural engineering roles, he has contributed to projects across the United Kingdom, Central Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Canada. His multidisciplinary background enables him to bridge the gap between design and construction, helping teams deliver more coordinated, efficient, and technically robust projects.
